Perhaps you’ve spent a lot of time fixing up the main rooms in your house. You might have even knocked down some main walls to connect rooms or undertaken a total overhaul of your living room.
Now that you’ve taken care of the rest of the house, maybe it’s time to give your garage some thought.
So what can you do to give your garage a new look? Well, quite a few things. Let’s take a look at some of the major ones.
1. Give it a new color
It’s amazing how much the overall color of a space can affect the feel that you have going into it. If you live in the Emirates, you are doubtless surrounded by many beautiful houses.
You want yours to be beautiful all the way around, including the place you drive into. So jazz it up with a bright color.
It may or may not match the interior of the house, but the garage is a distinctly separate space, so you can go wild.
Think about that you can rent a ferrari for a day. You want to showcase top-level rentals as much as possible, right?
So do some poking around online at garage interiors and see what pops out at you. Maybe you’ll see a color that inspires you and decide to give it a go.
2. Increased storage space
Your garage is doubtless the place where you keep a lot of stuff.
Whether it be the kids’ sporting equipment, tools, or seasonal furniture that you don’t use year-round, if you’ve got a garage you almost certainly keep a lot of stuff in it.
And if you bother to keep these things, they are probably ones you value.
So you don’t just want to leave things that are important to you in a big heap.
You might not be able to install closets in your garage space, but there are a number of ways that you can redo the space so that you can keep your stuff in order, and potentially create a nicer space all the way around.
3. Use the walls for storage
Again, you probably won’t have as much horizontal space as you would ideally like, so why not create space vertically?
If you’ve ever walked into a proper workshop, you’ll see all the tools organized on the wall by size, type, etc. You can do this, too, if you install some slatwall alongside the sides of your garage.
Then you can install hooks of different sizes, or perhaps bins, and give yourself tons of additional space that will free up the area below it.
If you live in Ras Al-Khaimah, you have sone great options for car rentals. Check out the Mitsubishi offerings at rental websites.
When you find the right rental for your upgraded garage, you won’t have to worry about bumping into anything or having your space disturbed.
4. Overhead space
You can also use the space on the ceiling if you have a ladder and are able to reach it. The ceiling can actually be a great place to install storage bins.
And you likely have a fair amount of space up there, so perhaps think about things that you only use rarely or will only have to get out at the beginning of summer.
This could free up tons of space and give your garage a bigger, more simple feel.
5. Lighting
In addition to changing the color, you might want to think about installing overhead track lighting or perhaps pendant lighting in places where you keep particular things.
It will not only give a different atmosphere to your garage, but it could also help you find small things that might get lost.
There are numerous different lighting designs that could work well in a garage; check some out online and see what inspires you.
6. Start looking around today
Again, the garage is a place that might seem secondary in importance to the rest of the house. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Do some searches online for contemporary garage ideas, and you might be surprised at what you see in terms of design, renovations, and storage ideas.
After all, your family, your cars, and your belongings deserve no less.
